50+
YEARS OF SERVICE

FROM 1973 TO TODAY

In 1973, Arthur Scudder started the company under the name of Kent Boiler Maintenance Ltd he was soon joined by David Bevan.

Quickly, Kent Boiler Maintenance grew and was established as the ‘go-to’ firm within the council's building sector, working for the Gillingham council covering schools, libraries and other council-owned premises.

1995

Arthur's son, Justin, joined the company and for the next 30 years, they built the company up, gaining a large customer base working in a range of areas. From Landlord Gas Safety Checks, private customer boiler servicing, to repairs and installations. Kent Boiler Maintenance has specialised as commercial catering specialists within the last 20 years with the help of new employees and our many sub-contractors, enabling the business to cover dishwashers, fridge freezes, combi ovens, ventilation and electric testing.

2017

David retires after 44 years and can now be spotted in the Wigmore area playing golf. The company continues to specialise heavily in commercial catering for schools - food tech rooms, science labs, kitchens, fridges, dishwashers, and ventilation.

2022

Founder Arthur Scudder passes after a long battle with Alzheimer's and Dementia. His values and standards live on in everything we do.

2025

After over 50 years of working KBM rebranded when on April 6th 2025, Kent Boiler Maintenance Ltd and KBM Services (Kent) Ltd formally merge. We are please to say all contracts and warranties carry over seamlessly. One company, wider expertise.

KBM Services in Kent.

Our commitments to the community we serve are always something dear to us; one of our directors, Joseph Grover, also volunteers on the management committee for SANDS United Kent. A support group for the dads and their families in the county of Kent who have experienced baby loss. We are very proud of the work Joseph has achieved over the years, be it being a voice and advocate on BBC News numerous times or helping fundraise for the outlets they are able to provide. Which is why we have supported the group, making them one of our CSR policies.

In memory of Beau Grover & Oliver Hull.
